Well hello there!

The wind is howling here as Sandy is bearing down on the northeast.  It's so windy here that every now and then it feels like something is hitting the house and it's actually just the wind!

It's a great day to be in the studio and crafting, but today, I'm sharing a project from the stamp-a-stack here last week.  I saw this cool technique in this month's stampin' success, which is a publication just for demonstrators.  There is all sorts of fun info in there.  For this card class my daughter Alexis, cut 6 ornaments for each person, one at a time.  (how lucky am i?)  Anyway, 3 of them, are cut with the bottom off on purpose.

The ornaments were cut out of the silver glimmer paper, then colored with reinkers and sponge daubers.  After doing this a few times last week, here's my tips.  Darker just looks nicer and shows up with a "pop."  After coloring the top layer, we heat set them with the new stampin up heat tool.  It actually has two settings ~ setting 2 is for embossing, but we used it on setting 1 to heat set our ink onto our glimmer paper without scorching it.  The heat gun did a perfect job.  The rest is VERY simple.  There's 3 layers to each of the cards shown here:

 Base Layer: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: is 5 x 3 3/4"
Layer 3: is 4 7/8 x 3 5/8"

I hand tied the bows for each of the class participants (just to make it easy).  We drew the line down with the new silver marker from the holiday catalog.
Finally, we finished it off with the jolly Christmas stamp on the inside.  Of course for each of the cards we changed the color to match.  such a pretty set of cards, and fun to make!

Here is the shopping list for this card:
