10/31 Stylin Snowfolk, Seasonal Sayings and Angry Birds Punch Art Treats for School! ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 8

Good Morning Friends and Happy Halloween!

I am continuing the 25 days of Christmas projects here today.  I made this card after playing with my daughters Angry Birds Treats that went to school today.  So I'll quickly talk about this Stylin Sistah, then we'll talk about the angry birds, okay?  :)

This could be my Halloween Costume.  A self portrait of me as a snow woman!  :)   The "Peace on Earth" and snowflakes, along with the snow on the ground is just the illuminate stamp pad!  I love the color it makes on regular cardstock, and there's no heat setting required if you use it by itself!  Yea!

The colors of this were inspired by the treats I just sent off to school with my little pumpkin (who is rockin her witch costume today).

Anyway.  There are a lot of little pieces to this.  I LOVE the shaker ball eyes from the mini. I know they are intended for Halloween projects, but don't cha' think they look good on my stylin' mama?

I stamped all the black with stazon, and the colors with markers.  I cut out the pieces.  I also made a scarf, but since it **just** started snowing on my card and the grass is still green, she wen without the scarf.  The carrot nose is cut and pieced onto my diva snowchick and so is the cute hat with the big pink flower.  The flower die used on the paper below it, mirrors the flower in her hat! So fun to make, and I love all the little pieces!

This stamp set has 22 stamps in all.  it's a really cute set!  You can build your snow person to be whomever he/she is supposed to be!  :)  Wicked cute!
So I'm really excited this morning to share some other goodies that just went out the door.  My daughter was SO excited when she left for school this morning.

When she got up, they were finally finished!  The "Angry Birds" treat boxes that we all made together.  She cut the boxes, and did some punching. Dad and I really spent some time on these.

So now you must be really ready to see them, are ya? :)

So, here is our Angry Bird Army, getting ready to be stuffed to the gills with peanut free treats!
Here's a better view so you can see some of the details.
And here is Dad's.  We put a few more things in his.  The kids each got bubbles in the shape of an eyeball (of course), rice crispy treats, two twizzlers, and a pack of the Welches Fruit Snacks.

There's no way these would have been finished without my big, strong, handsome hubby to help me with all that punching!  He even skipped his favorite TV show last night to help me knock these out.

There's all sorts of shapes in there. Circles, flower petals (that I cut down). The top of the yellow bird's head I cut with scissors about 8-10 times, then black marker to make the top of the "fuzz". The eyebrows are a candle from the cupcake punch. The red guy has a heart glued behind his head for the feather. The beaks are another flower punch that I cut down. And LOTS of shaker ball eyes.

The box itself is the Fancy favor box, and Alexis cut all of those out by herself.

The green paper was cut from a 3 inch square, then I just took my exacto knife and made the ground.  Two I just made the slice, then could use the both halves.  Does that make sense?

Well, I hope you and yours have a very Happy Halloween!  and see!  I still got a Christmas post in on Halloween!  I hope that all the Christmas ideas will help you with your holiday projects.  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

10/30 Stampin' Up! Ornament Keepsakes, Greetings of the Season and Candlight Christmas Specialty Paper ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 7

Greetings Friends!

Today I'm sharing day 7 of Christmas inspired projects.

When I first purchased the Christmas specialty paper from Stampin' Up!, I was really stumped on how to use the flocked window sheets.  They are GORGEOUS in real life and just have the red flocked design on the clear sheet.  This card is so pretty in person.  Once again the picture doesn't do it justice.

So, for this card I took a sizzix adhesive sheet and stuck the whole window sheet to it.  I cut the sheet on my stampin up tabletop paper cutter, then peeled the backing.  It does take a little bit of elbow grease to get the backing off, but it's so worth it!  I will also say, that I was using it how it ISNT intended, so I had to "goo gone" my paper cutter when I was done.  However, I LOVE this card!  The adhesive sticks to the glimmer paper, no problem, and there are no adhesive marks!

Similar to yesterday's card, I used a silver marker to draw a line to hang my ornament.  Oh, and for the stamp clubbers that have to wait an extra week for club due to Sandy, this is one of the club projects this month!

Here are the measurements for this project:
Base: Real Red card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: and Inside: 5 1/4" x 4" whisper white.
Layer 3: Silver Glimmer Paper 4 x 1 1/4" then, punched with the scalloped border trim punch
Layer 4: Flocked window sheet 4 x 1", with the sizzix adhesive on the back.
Layer 5: Ornament Keepsakes stamped and cut ornament, using the Holiday Ornaments framelit die.
Layer 6: Pre tied bow made from 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon Real red 126875

1. Using Real Red Pad, stamp the Greetings of the Season stamp on the bottom left hand side of layer two.  Then emboss this layer with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder.

2. Take the silver glimmer paper (which is already cut to 4 x 1 1/4" and use the scalloped border trim punch to create the decorative edge.

3. Remove the backing from the flocked paper.  This piece is the sizzix adhesive backing which I prepped when I cut the packet.

4. Stamp an ornament on scrap paper, and cut it with the big shot using the coordinating framelit.  Add dimensionals to the back of this piece.

5. Use the silver marker to draw a line down the white cardstock. **HINT** Line up your cut ornament so you know where you want it and it doesn't go over the edge of your card. At the same time, you can add some accents to the top of the ornament with the silver marker.

6. Use the tombo multipurpose adhesive to adhere the glimmer paper to the top of the card, then attach the ornament with dimensionals.

7. To add the pre tied bow, use 3 glue dots in the back of the bow.

8. Add a medium self adhesive rhinestone.

10/29 Stampin' Up! Seasonal Sayings, One Day Sale and Trio of Sparkle Cards ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 6

Well hello there!

So first!  MDS users, click here to get your free digital downloads today!  All digital kits are 50% off too, so make sure you check that out when you are in there.

The wind is howling here as Sandy is bearing down on the northeast.  It's so windy here that every now and then it feels like something is hitting the house and it's actually just the wind!

It's a great day to be in the studio and crafting, but today, I'm sharing a project from the stamp-a-stack here last week.  I saw this cool technique in this month's stampin' success, which is a publication just for demonstrators.  There is all sorts of fun info in there.  For this card class my daughter Alexis, cut 6 ornaments for each person, one at a time.  (how lucky am i?)  Anyway, 3 of them, are cut with the bottom off on purpose.

The ornaments were cut out of the silver glimmer paper, then colored with reinkers and sponge daubers.  After doing this a few times last week, here's my tips.  Darker just looks nicer and shows up with a "pop."  After coloring the top layer, we heat set them with the new stampin up heat tool.  It actually has two settings ~ setting 2 is for embossing, but we used it on setting 1 to heat set our ink onto our glimmer paper without scorching it.  The heat gun did a perfect job.  The rest is VERY simple.  There's 3 layers to each of the cards shown here:

 Base Layer: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: is 5 x 3 3/4"
Layer 3: is 4 7/8 x 3 5/8"

I hand tied the bows for each of the class participants (just to make it easy).  We drew the line down with the new silver marker from the holiday catalog.
Finally, we finished it off with the jolly Christmas stamp on the inside.  Of course for each of the cards we changed the color to match.  such a pretty set of cards, and fun to make!

Here is the shopping list for this card:

Stamps: Seasonal Sayings
Ink: midnight muse, gumball green, primrose petals (reinkers and ink pads)

10/28 Stampin Up! Happy Hour Christmas Card ~ 25 Days of Christmas Projects, Day 5

Good Evening!

We are getting ready for Hurricane Sandy here in the North East, so my post is a little bit tardy today.  They have cancelled school for the whole state of Massachusetts tomorrow!  No matter where you are, please stay safe!

For those of you in my stamp club, I will be postponing club until next week.  All the same time slots apply!

For the 5th day of 25 days of posts for Christmas, I tried out the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches.  Boy, I just love a good sketch challenge as it gives you a jumping off point for creating!

Layer 4: 2 1/2" circle punch
Layer 5: 1/2" strip of shimmer paper
Layer 6: 3/4" strip of whisper white paper for the banner.

1. Attach the designer paper to the gumball green layer and then to the card.
2. Using the basic black, primrose petals and gumball green markers ink up the two drink images and stamp on the 2 1/2" circle.
3. Using the cherry cobbler and gumball green markers, ink up the holly and stamp them onto your drinks.
4. Use a pair of snips to cut up the middle of the paper banners, then cut the "V" into the paper.
5. Using the cherry cobbler ink pad, stamp the sentiment on the 3/4" strip.
6. Using the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad and a stampin sponge, add a little sponged color to the sentiment and 2 1/2" circle layers.
Use tombo multipurpose adhesive to attach the layers to your card.

10/27 Stampin' Up! Star Tree Country Glimmer ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 4

Good Morning Friends!

On the 4th day of Christmas Projects I thought I'd ink up this lonely stamp for the first time!  This is a single stamp in the main Idea Book and Catalog on page 19 called Star Tree.

There's so much to tell on this one!  Let's start with some measurements:

Base: Vanilla 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: Core'dinations Card stock in Espresso cut to 5 1/4" x 4"
Layer(s) 3: 4 x 1/4" (x3)
Layer 4: Real Red 4 1/4" x 3"
Layer 5: Very Vanilla 4 x 2 3/4"
Layer 6 and 7: were stamped with the Mixed Medley (Hostess Stamp Set) and punched out with the 3/4" circle and the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punches.

So first, let's talk about the AWESOME texture on layer 2.  That is the Coordinations Card stock 127848, which we ran through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder 127819.  Next, we took a new sanding block from the Stampin' Sanding System 129367 and sanded the card stock to show the different color at the core of the card stock.  Such a pretty effect!  It made the background of our card have such a country feel and really makes the Vanilla Cardstock pop!

Then, we attached the three layers of the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper (Item 126901) to that layer using, Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive and set that layer aside.  Next, we stamped the tree with Lucky Limeade Ink, the snowflake with real red ink, and the Merry Christmas with Espresso Ink.  We punched, out the two circles and attached them to the side of the vanilla tree, where there was a gap in the design.

Next, we attached the real red base and added dimensionals to the back of that layer.  Stick it onto the card and you're almost done.  We used the mini star from the Merry Mini's Punch Pack with Real Red Glimmer Paper, and attached that with a 1/2 of dimensional.  it's too big if you use a whole one.  :)
Finally, we had some fun painting with the Cherry Cobbler glimmer paint.  It really marries up nicely with the real red glimmer paper here.  They look like the same color!  Love THAT!

Here is a shopping list for today's share:

Stamps:  126784 Star Tree, (Hostess Only Clear) Mixed Medley 128057
Ink: Real Red Ink Pad, Espresso Ink Pad, Lucky Limeade Ink Pad
Paper: Very Vanilla Card Stock, Core'dinations Espresso, Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper
Accessories: Red Glimmer Paper, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Lacy Brocade Embossing folder, Stampin' Sanding System
Adhesive:  Snail Adhesive, Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive, 104430 Dimensionals.

10/26 Stampin' Up! Joyous Celebrations ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 3

Good Morning Friends!

How about another clean and simple share?  If you are making LOTS and LOTS of cards for Christmas like I am, you are going to need some clean and simple ideas!

I did this with my stamp club a few month's ago and my good friend Donna T.  asked me to post this card.  I don't usually post my stamp club creations, but I also want to keep my "clubbers" happy as possible!  :)

So ~ first, some measurements.

Base: Midnight muse scored at 4 1/4", then cut in half at 5 1/2" on the 11" side of an 8 1/2" x 11"  This will give you two card bases that are scored.  (note: I rounded two corners.)  My eye doesn't pick up on that the first time I look at this card because it looks so simple!

Layer 2: Whisper white 5 1/4" x 4", then embossed with the Holiday Frame Textured Embossing folder.  After the class members embossed this layer.  After embossing, they used the corner rounder again on the same two corners.  They took a two way glue pen to the raised areas, then poured dazzling diamonds over the top.  So the oval embossed areas are all super sparkly!

Layer 3:  Is just a 3/8" strip of the Glimmer paper in silver.  This stuff goes a long way!   I think I need to do a short video on how I make my banner ends.  I've gotten some emails about it and it's really quite easy.  You just cut up the middle of your card stock (from the end) then, snip to where you cut.  I'll have to show you that visually as we go on.  It's so easy!

Layer 4: Is a whisper white scrap that is up on dimensionals.  Before punching the scrap out with the Extra-Large Oval Punch, I stamped the frame first with the polka dots, then lined up the sentiment and stamped that.  When I was happy with how it came out I punched it out and added dimensionals.  This is just one case when I really prefer the clear mount, because you can see exactly where you're going when you're lining this up and there's no fussing with a stamp-a-majig.

Layer 5: Is a pre-tied bow from midnight muse stitched satin ribbon.  Most of the time, I will pre-tie my bows for all my classes to make it easy on the ladies who come.  My friend Lee Conrey from Jacksonville makes these nifty little bow makers and it makes a perfect bow every time.  I wouldn't want to tie bows without it.  The class members just use a glue dot to attach the bow and they are good to go!

Inside: I also cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of white and did the same corner rounder inside, then we stamped the Christmas tree from joyous celebrations and added a glittery star using the punch from the mini!  Sorry I didn't snap a photo of the inside, but it's pretty cute!

Before I give the shopping list I just HAVE to tell you that there's a few REALLY BIG things coming from Stampin' Up! I'M SO EXCITED!  So, I've been thinking about holding a customer appreciation event.  Stampin' Up is sort of doing it for me! I've decided to take their ONE DAY SALE and make it even BETTER!

Today, Stampin' Up! has announced to demonstrators that on Monday October 29th, almost EVERY. SINGLE. STAMP. SET. will be available for 15% off!

PLUS! As a personal thank you to all my customers, for every order over $50 I will pay the shipping!  (this is only available through my online store).  If you place the order with me on Monday, we can do it while I'm placing the order.  If you want to shop off the clearance rack as well as take 15% off most EVERY single stamp set, place your order online and I will write you a check for the shipping costs.

The only exceptions will be Hostess Sets, Bundled Sets and Digital Stamp Brush Sets. Mark your catalogs and get ready to SHOP!  If you know what you'd like ahead of time, feel free to pop me an email.  If you have a card on file I can charge that.

10/25 Stampin' Up! Beautiful Season ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 2

Good Morning Friends!

Day 2 of the 25 day's of Christmas!  How Fun!

Thanks so much for those of you who reached out to me yesterday!  I'm excited that you're excited!  Your feedback really keeps me going and energizes me to keep posting projects.  Let me also say, I LOVE when you case me (I had a few people ask).  I consider it the highest form of flattery.  Thanks so much for subscribing and/or just visiting.  I appreciate every single one of you SO much!

Okay, so enough of mushy Selene. (I can't help that.)

I have to say that I don't usually "do" birdie cards, but this bird is so sweet.  I see a baby cardinal, but my stamper buds have corrected me to say that it's a chickadee.  This gorgeous card goes together in a few minutes.  Moreover, it uses my FAVORITE green, artichoke.  So, first, we embossed the second layer (artichoke) with the 120175 Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  Then, I had the class members crumple up this layer in a ball, distress the edges with paper snips, yes, even rip the edges a little.  Next, we sponged the edges with artichoke ink.

Once that paper was all happy, we stamped the "bird" towards the top of the very vanilla panel 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" with stazon black ink.  We colored the plant and the bird with always artichoke and riding hood red markers, and blended them with blender pens.  Then, we added the "thick" side of the marker to the holly berries.  I set this aside for a moment and took the 4 x 1" riding hood red strip and sponged that with artichoke ink.  I added a 5" strip of 118481 Crochet Trim, then tied a piece of 104199 Linen Thread around the card and tied a bow.  Next, I took a leftover 1/2" strip of very vanilla cardstock and stamped it with the merry Christmas stamp from Petite Pairs 122495 W 122497 C. Then, I sponged that small layer after making my little banner.

Finally, I attached all the pieces to the base, then added some dazzling details (clear).  I'm not sure if you can see the sparkle in the photo.  All my customers said that the card is a LOT more beautiful in real life and you can't see all the glorious details in the photo.  Aren't they cool to me?

So, if you missed yesterday, I'm offering a precut kit for the Christmas tree cards in Qty's of 18.  Click here for more info on that.

Thanks for stopping by today, here is a shopping list and quick links for ordering of what I used.

Shopping List:
Stamps: Petite Pairs 122495 W 122497 C, Beautiful Season 122680 W 122682 C

The next two dates are Friday November 9th at 9 am or 6:30 PM (which is flexible).  I am available any time after 5PM to start the class and the same bat time on December 14th.

Here's one of the page sets that the class members made.  This one was a bit more simple (technique wise) than the other pages, but they are GORGEOUS in person!
I'll start by talking about the MDS hybrid piece.  This is actually a "tag template"

I love the new SUPPLY list feature in MDS!  Makes me so happy!!
Here is the Supply List from My digital studio for this tag:

Now that you've seen the pages we made, I thought you might have some fun seeing how I used them with my own photos.  This year my husband, daughter and I canned our own pickles.  We had ONE cucumber plant that gave us so many cucumbers we were afraid they were going to go bad.

We had already tried making strawberry jam this year (which is FABULOUS, by the way) and thought it would be fun to make some homemade pickles!  Here's the full set of pages, with one of the jars of pickles that we made.

Banners are HOT this year, and I just love them.  We used the Orchard Harvest DSP (3 different patterns) to make this cute banner on the upper left side of the page.   I'm in LOVE with the in color dahlia's and actually saw some at Claire's on a pair of earrings.  I'm thinking I NEED to make my own!

This part of the page makes me smile.  I used the Stampin' Up! Typeset Alphabet Bigz die to make the word PICKLES!!!  and it always makes me smile because of my nephews James & John.   I couldn't resist adding another Dahlia to the I in pickles.  Doesn't the DSP look like a pickle?
Nor could I resist adding another linen thread bow to the "L".  Sometimes, it's the little things that make me happy!
Finally, I added some banners to my largest photograph.  I want whoever looks at my book to focus on the person, and the big white space in my photo was distracting.  I made it pretty with my banner, the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch, and a more mustard button.  I used a little more linen thread to thread the button.
That's it for this past Friday's scrapbook Class, Preserving Memories.  Can't believe it's already Monday!  Have a GREAT week!

10/18 Stampin' Up! Monster Munchies ~ cards from scraps

I should never clean the studio by myself.  I just do not have the strength to walk away from unused scraps and the studio doesn't end up clean!  Here's a fun spider cider card that went together in just a few minutes.  I laid the ribbon scraps down in a circular shape and just added some snail adhesive in the center.  The ribbon pieces were much larger, so I just cut them down, then added the cut off pieces to the card too!
The card base and embossed layer was sitting in another bin from last month's stamp club.  So lucky for me!  I really only took about a 10 minute break to make this cute card!  The photo doesn't reveal that it's super shimmery.  I used shimmer white card stock and stamped on the second layer, then punched out the spider cider from that layer.
I glued all the layers together and you can't see the hole. :) Love that!  I added the spider cider cut out with dimensionals to make sure they stay put and to add a little dimension {of course}.

Base: Tangerine Tango 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: Shimmer white 5 x 3 3/4"
Layer 3: Basic black, 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Layer 4-10 or more: Lots of ribbon scraps!
Layer on top of that is the jumbo oval, cut from layer 2.  :)

Here's the Shopping list and links to purchase any of these products.
Stamps: Monster Munchies stamp set Clear Mount 127901 or Wood Mount 127904

10/18 Stampin Up! Ghoulish Googlies Scrapbooking

Good Morning Friends!

I'm getting back on schedule with a scrapbooking class tomorrow night.  Friends will make 4 pages for $20 and can take $10 off the class price with an order (minimum $25).

Check out the glimmer paper that we're turning tangerine tango!  I love how sparkly this paper is.

These pages are stunning in real life.  I'm not sure the photo does them justice.  There's LOTS of bling, and LOTS of eyes. watching us in time for Halloween.

Also to share, I've got some BIG plans!  I'm planning to do a 25 days of Christmas on my blog.  You won't want to miss it!

Stamp Out Breast Cancer 2012 ~ Results!

What a beautiful day we had at this year's stamp out Breast Cancer Event!  So far, we have raised over $3800 for Breast Cancer!   Here's a photo of the hall around 12:30.  After that it got too busy! There were actually people waiting to sit down at the 16 person stations.

It was truly a family affair, with husbands and children and families.  Everyone helped in some way!

Here are the names of the volunteers at this event:
Regina Maginnis, Christine Crutcher, Shawna Lamarche, Joanne Cardone, Marilyn SanClemente, Lisa Fuller, Tami White, Jeanne Neilson, Diane Garoffolo, Margaret Galvez, Christine Swiridowsky, Sharon MacKinnon.  Plus our mom's, children, family, my hubby.. What a day!  So here we go...

This is Sharon MacKinnon with the donated Pizza's from Romano's Pizza of Dracut. They donated 10 delicious pizzas for the event!

Everyone dawned the pink that day to celebrate!

These are the gifts I made for all the volunteers and speakers.  I found the mugs at the dollar store and spent some time embellishing them.

This is one of the volunteers Diane Giarrusso, posing with my daughter Alexis.

Shawna Lamarche and Joanne Cardone ran one of the stations.  Here's a picture of Shawna.

...and this is Joanne Cardone.

Diane Giarrusso and Tami ran another station.  This is Tami White, don't cha just love that smile?

Christine Crutcher and Regina Maginnis.  They always pair up and do such a great job!

Cupcakes were provided by Amanda Panda Party of Dracut.

This is my mom and Tami White's mom Sharon.  They took care of the registrations and front table and did such a wondeful job!  They spent the day chatting and knitting in between registrations and we couldn't have done it without them.

Here is Diane again with her lovely daughter.
There were all kinds of stampin up displays, this is my display.
The door prizes were amazing!  This is the home brewer with 4 packs of coffee courtesy of Kurig.com and Colleen Reddy.  Thanks Colleen for getting us this prize!  We also gave away a FULL set of all the ink pads in every color, a big shot, and a prize basket including everything you needed to make the card set including a paper cutter and score board.  What an amazing prize!
Couldn't resist showing this one.  The children in the room made the day for me.  It was awesome to see new friendships blooming.
We had SUPER inspirational talks from survivors!
Delicious sweets for the sweet!
Here's another mother/daughter duo, Joanne and Jessica Cardone.
There are so many things I missed here, that happened that day, but this is what I could capture during the time I had.
