10/27 Stampin' Up! Star Tree Country Glimmer ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 4

Good Morning Friends!

On the 4th day of Christmas Projects I thought I'd ink up this lonely stamp for the first time!  This is a single stamp in the main Idea Book and Catalog on page 19 called Star Tree.

There's so much to tell on this one!  Let's start with some measurements:

Base: Vanilla 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: Core'dinations Card stock in Espresso cut to 5 1/4" x 4"
Layer(s) 3: 4 x 1/4" (x3)
Layer 4: Real Red 4 1/4" x 3"
Layer 5: Very Vanilla 4 x 2 3/4"
Layer 6 and 7: were stamped with the Mixed Medley (Hostess Stamp Set) and punched out with the 3/4" circle and the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punches.

So first, let's talk about the AWESOME texture on layer 2.  That is the Coordinations Card stock 127848, which we ran through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder 127819.  Next, we took a new sanding block from the Stampin' Sanding System 129367 and sanded the card stock to show the different color at the core of the card stock.  Such a pretty effect!  It made the background of our card have such a country feel and really makes the Vanilla Cardstock pop!

Then, we attached the three layers of the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper (Item 126901) to that layer using, Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive and set that layer aside.  Next, we stamped the tree with Lucky Limeade Ink, the snowflake with real red ink, and the Merry Christmas with Espresso Ink.  We punched, out the two circles and attached them to the side of the vanilla tree, where there was a gap in the design.

Next, we attached the real red base and added dimensionals to the back of that layer.  Stick it onto the card and you're almost done.  We used the mini star from the Merry Mini's Punch Pack with Real Red Glimmer Paper, and attached that with a 1/2 of dimensional.  it's too big if you use a whole one.  :)
Finally, we had some fun painting with the Cherry Cobbler glimmer paint.  It really marries up nicely with the real red glimmer paper here.  They look like the same color!  Love THAT!
