4/3 More Make a Cake with Itty Bitty Banners and Patio Party Designer Paper

Good Morning Friends,

How about another great project with Make a Cake and Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Sets?  These stamp sets are both so versatile.  For Make a Cake, you can make the cake different sizes or shapes by layering the images.  To make it easier, I would suggest using a post it note in between stamping to protect the images underneath.

Here's a look at the card I made:
The Patio Party Designer Paper comes with a cute circle image that matches one of the prints in another sheet!  I just used a 1 3/4" circle punch to punch out the pre-printed image to make the banner emblem.  I added a 3/4" circle punch of midnight muse card stock in the center of the circle.  When I stamped the cake base, I added a post it note to the top of the cake base, then added the top.

What an easy thank you set for a bride to be to have made up for wedding thank you's!

I stamped the images in the midnight muse and then colored them in with the other 2012-2014 in color markers.
Paper: Patio Party, Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

On a personal note, the construction workers are "jacking up" the house on a house jack today, and the ground has begun to shake! It may be time for me to take my mom out again!  I'm so glad we are getting the necessary work completed, but yikes!

I'll be back tomorrow to share another fun project with you!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit today!  Please make it a great day!

2/26 Vintage Verses, Sale A Bration Wedding Card

Good Afternoon Friends!

Boy, I've been a bit of a blog slacker this week!  I had my open house on Saturday, and then I prepped 3 projects for 40 women so that we would be ready to go this morning, for this week's stamp club activities.

I just love taking time to stamp with a few people at a time, so my stamp club runs for a whole week, in one hour sessions.  I just love to visit and spend time with folks.  Anyway, check out this pretty card I made for a friend last week.  I am so bummed I'm just getting around to post it now, isn't it a Vintage beauty?

I'm playing around with some wedding cards for next weeks stamp a stack and think this might make the "cut" into the class.

The base is crumb cake card stock 11 x 4 1/4" and embossed with the tulip embossing folder.
I added a vanilla and crumb cake layer on top of that.  I also put some newsprint (1/2" strip) for my ribbon/banner/bow with the gorgeous vintage brad and pearl in the middle.  The "day as perfect as you" stamp came from a FREE sale-a-bration stamp set I got with a $50 merchandise purchase.

The butterflies were punched out of some cherry cobbler paper and attached to my card front with glue dots.  I added 3 small pearls to each.  Do you think my customers might like to make this one at next week's class?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I have much more to share!  I've been a busy little bee!  :)

2/2 Stampin' Up! Vintage Verses and Artisan Embellishments kit Traced Embossing Color Combo Creative Crew CCREW0213DF

Good Morning Friends!

Wouldn't this make an awesome wedding card?

This morning I'm sharing with you a card I made for a color challenge on the split coast stamper creative crew challenges for the month of February!  I have to be honest!  I was nervous about his color set, but now that it's done, I LOVE the way it came out!  I'm really psyched about these projects I have to share!

Here's the original challenge:
CCREW0213DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: I'm not focusing on DSP this month, instead we're going with a good old fashioned color combo, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, & Sahara Sand! (Bet that threw you off, you were probably expecting a brown weren't you?)came out!!

I started with some vanilla embossing powder and heat embossed the image from Vintage Verses on a Primrose Petals card stock, that I cut with the top note die and my big shot. :)

I took a raspberry ripple marker and with the "pen" side I traced around my embossed image to add a drop shadow with the raspberry color.  I am so happy with the effect and I'm going to throw it out here as traced embossing.  I cant be the first person to try this!?! can I? I get excited when I feel like I came up with something all on my own.  I guess we all do!  :)

Next I added some sponging (with the raspberry ripple color) onto my primrose and pretty in pink cardstock.  I cut the top note die on the primrose layer so you could see my pretty in pink border on the layer below.  :)

Needless to say, I'll have to hand deliver this card, because this gorgeous embellishment makes my card about 3/4" of an inch tall if it's laying on the table!  I used two elements from the Artisan Embellishments Kit and added a raspberry ripple dahlia.  I added dazzling diamonds glitter with a two way glue pen.  I ended up having to stick the vanilla flower with liquid glue due to how heavy the whole thing is when I embellished it. teehee.  I love this ribbon that comes in the kit.  I imagine that I'll be making myself a ribbon bracelet from the piece left over.  I'm going to have to hit a big box store and find a clasp, i'm on a mission!  :)
Here's another close up of my pretty card!  To see what the rest of the design team is up to and to preview my other projects (which I'll talk about here later this week).  Click here

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Saturday Sketch Challenge, Stampin Up Love & Laughter, Wedding

Good Evening Friends!

With so many elements to this week's sketch challenge, I felt a little intimidated when sitting down to create my card.  I decided to keep it mostly white...  Well, did I have fun!

I don't have a wedding or shower to go to.. but I grabbed the love and laughter stamp set anyway.  hmmm how about a supply list first.

Stamps: Love and laughter
Ink: stazon black and primrose petals (for sponging on the background
Paper: Black, white and 2012-2014 in color designer paper
Accessories: stitched satin in primrose petals, the new dahlia's (my FAVORITE new thing!) the finishing touches edgelits, and floral fusion sizzlits.  (oh my!), Manhattan Flower Embossing folder, and stampin sponges.  Glue dots, dimensionals and tombo multipurpose liquid glue.  :)

I LOVE this card!  :)

So how about some measurements:
Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4" black
Layer 3: whisper white 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Layer 4: 1 1/2 x 5 1/2" cut with the finishing touch edgelit on the big shot.
Layer 5: primrose petals 2 3/8" x 3 3/8"
Layer 6: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Then the flowers were cut with the floral fusion sizzlit from stampin up's big shot die cutting machine.  I used a glue dot to ad the dahlia.

It's not my normal clean and simple (which I love so much).  However, I am loving the way this one turned out.  TGIF!!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tomorrow, I'm stamping with my friends from elementary school.  I don't think any of them have ever held a stamp.  I can't wait to share what I love so much with my old friends (who are still quite young).  :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love & Laughter

Good Morning Friends!

I had a ball yesterday afternoon making this quick card.  Yes, it went together in about 15 minutes!  I took part in a chat and challenge over on Sudsol. Sudsol is a demonstrator only forum that has chats, challenges, great artwork sharing and more.

I came into the room kind of late. 45 minutes late, and I DID have my card made within time.  :)  Not too shabby!

So how about some details?

Measurements:
Base: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" scored in half at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: whisper white 4" square
Layer 3:  3 7/8"  square Mocha Morning Specialty Paper (black flocked pattern)
Layer 4: 1 1/2" whisper white, with the eyelet border punch
Layer 5: the same pattern of dsp flipped 1" x 4 1/4"
Layer 6: Stamped "i do" image from the Love and Laughter Stamp Set
Layer 7: Congratulations banner from the same set.  The rose red flowers come from the bitty shapes punch pack.  I used a mat pack to push a hole in the middle then I added our silver mini brads.  they are so delicate to work with!  I love how they dress up this wedding card!

I used a retired slot punch to punch a hole in the top of my card to make it easy to run my 5/8" satin ribbon through and tie a bow.

Hard to imagine that it went together in 15 minutes, but that my friends is the power of a cool sketch!  This card is going to be a wonderful card to give to my husbands cousin who is getting married in two weeks.  Check!, one less thing is always good!

Thanks for stopping by today, and if you love what you see, please leave me a message.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to place an order, you may do so here!  Thanks for popping by!

{hugs to you}

Mojo Monday ~ Springy Celebration

Good Morning Friends!

I just love this time of year! Waking up in the morning, the sun seems just a little brighter. Although it's still chilly out, the signs that spring is here are coming!

At this time of year, I love to go a bit brighter. I gravitate towards white... and this card gives the feel of spring, and maybe weddings?

I'm loving the richness of this card, and the fact that it's a little smaller than my usual card. It's 4 1/4" square, so this is most certainly one you would hand to someone, which would be perfect for the upcoming wedding season!

Measurements:
Base: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4" (to form the card base)
Layer 2: 4 1/8" square whisper white
Layer 3: 4" square whisper white, embossed with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder
Layer 4: 4" x 3 1/4" whisper white, with the eyelet border bunch across the bottom
Layer 5: The new fabulous DSP coming out in APRIL, will be available THIS FRIDAY! 4 x 2 3/4"
Layer 6: 2 5/8" x 2 3/8" (note this is 1/8" larger than layer 7")
Layer 7: 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" whisper white (focal point)
Layer 8: Paper banner is 1/2" tall

Colors and Notes:
I used baja, not quite navy and old olive markers to stamp the images. For the main image, I inked my flower with baja and added not quite navy to accent. Then I huffed on the back of the stamp (to remoisten it with my breath) and stamped it on my white (layer 7).

I just love a good sketch challenge to get me going in the morning! Off to prep for my stamp club, which is this week!

Rubbah hugs,
Selene Kempton
