Field Flowers

Good Afternoon Friends!

I've been a busy bee working today, then I had to pick up my daughter, homework, then dance class!  Well I officially had an hour and a half to play.

I remembered someone who's work I admire, LeAnne, is a designer for a website called The Paper Players, so I decided to give their challenges a whirl.  This weeks challenge was to make a card with flowers.

I have wanted this set FOREVER and it just came in the mail this week.  When thinking of spring, I always tend to go back to my favorite "old school" Stampin' Up! color scheme which included apricot (well we don't have that any more) The other 3 are rose red, regal rose and artichoke).  So I'm going old school for this.  :D

I know you can't really tell from the picture, but I used all shimmer white paper.  it's so pretty and sparkly in real life.  I inked the leaf image first in artichoke, then added the regal rose "base" to the flowers.  This is a two step flower, the stamp on top of that is rose red which is slightly darker and outlines the regal rose image nicely.  I could see this being pretty in purple hues too.

That ribbon is so fun to work with.  It feels like blue jean material.  It's the 3/8" Denim Jean Ribbon (125054).  It's got a nice bite to it because it's so heavy and makes a really nice bow without any difficulty.   I sponged all the white edges with rose red ink also.

Behind the sentiment is 3 scalloped ovals put together to make the trim around the large oval.  It goes together pretty easily, you just have to play with it.

I also used a pretty edgelit die to make the cute border shown, and the hearts pattern embossing folder.  Well, I'm out the door again!  I managed to get this card done and posted in under an hour!  Not too shabby!  :D

Have a great night!
Rubbah hugs,

Selene Kempton
