Stampin Up Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop JANUARY 2016, Love Is All You Need, Freezer Paper Resist Technique, Rose Wonder Photopolymer Bundle

The theme this month is "Love is all you need" and I have a really sweet friend on my mind today. My dear friend Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer last week, and she's going in for surgery today. I plan on sending her both these cards. She is a blessing to so many and to me!

I have been a woman on a mission playing with the freezer paper technique I have to share with you today.

The steps are pretty basic:

Cut some freezer paper (found at the grocery store) out with a big shot die.
Iron it on your paper.
Watercolor on top. (glitter optional too)
Use a heat gun and a pair of paper snips to lift the watercolor paper.
Fill in any imperfections with a white gel pen
Finish your card.

Here is a video I did for you today to show you the steps.

As far as the big shot tips, after showing "how easy" my dies were to cut, i had some trouble and left it in there so you could see how I fixed it. If you have trouble sometimes with intricate cuts, below are two graphics that can help you with your sandwich when cutting intricate dies. Here is another example I made using the same technique and the Bloomin Love Bundle also by Stampin' Up! and I used the above guide for the intricate cut, making it MUCH easier to get a clean cut than before. Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me share with you today.

12/23 Stampin' Up Grand Vacations Achievers Blog Hop DECEMBER ~ Bring on the Bling with Wink of Stella!

Greetings Friends!

Where ever you may be joining us from, welcome to my little piece of cyber space and the Stampin' Up Mediterranean Cruise Achievers Blog Hop! You may have been coming from my friend Connie's blog! (Can't believe I have to follow Connie, wasn't her project cute??)

My name is Selene Kempton and I'm from a little town north of Boston in Massachusetts called Dracut, phonetically speaking (Dray-cut).

I am so excited to see what all my Stampin Friends come up with for the "Bring on the Bling" Challenge today. As for me, when I heard the theme, I knew that I wanted to introduce you to this sneak peek product, that will be released to Stampin' Up customers on January 5th with the launch of the new catalogs! (happy dance)

I was so excited at founder circle when I got my very first wink of Stella glitter brush! This new product from Stampin' Up is so fun to play with.

I still remember the night we got them. Some of the demonstrators got the gold brush, and some got clear! I was ready to play. We were having some fun with rub on tattoo's and my friend Erica Cerwin added some glitter to make it more pretty!

So, that day I learned that the ~ directions say ~ that it's not makeup and you are not SUPPOSED to put it on your skin. ~ Disclosure it was on top of a tattoo, and I lived to write this post today! I don't typically read directions anyway!

I love all things that sparkle and shine, but I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that this one isn't messy. You get a controlled dash of sparkle where ever you need it and it dries up in a quick minute!

So here are the "must know directions" for people like me who like less words. :)

See the black ring? That must be removed before the glitter will come out! :)
After taking the black ring out, screw the two pieces back together, then PULL the cap straight off. It is NOT a twist off cap.
Add glitter to your project where ever you want no fuss, no muss!

I know the photo above doesn't really show the glitter. Let me tell you!! When the light catches the balloons at just the right angle! It's magic! Poof! So beautiful!!

One more little trick for you today. I love this tulle style ribbon from Stampin Up. I cut a piece about 5 1/2" inches long, then stick it to both back sides of the strawberry color. Then, I cut two more pieces about 4" each and tie them on. I fluff them and cut them at an angle so they end up looking fluffy and sharp.

June Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop ~ Perfect Pairs

Welcome to the Grand Vacation achievers hop for June. This month we are excited to show off new Stampin’ Up! products from the just released 2015 – 2016 Annual Catalog/Catalogue that is being paired with something we had previously from the catalog. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. Get your wish list ready!

Today's challenge was "Perfect Pairs" and I chose to pair up my favorite past colors with a brand new stamp set called You're Sublime.

One of my all time favorite color sets, that I seem to go back to over and over, is Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red and So Saffron. I paired that up with some watercolor paper for a quick and easy card for this Blog hop.

Measurements:
Base: 11 x 4 1/4", scored and folded in half at 5 1/2"
Layer 2: 5 1/4" x 4, and embossed with the Lovely Lace embossing folder
Layer 3: 6" piece of Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon 1/4"
Layer 4: Rose Red 2 1/2" square Tilted so it looks like a diamond
Layer 5: Rich Razzleberry 2 1/4" square
Layer 6: Water Color Paper 2 1/4" square
Layer 7: Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon, tied in a bow.

Directions:

Stamp the loads of thanks (on the diamond ~ so that the points are straight up and down) using Stazon Ink.
Using So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry Markers, color in the image to your tastes.
Run layer 2 through the big shot with the Lovely Lace embossing folder.
Attach the ribbon to the back of layer 2 using two glue dots on the back side of the card, either end.
Assemble the layers as shown in the photo and attach them to your card. Take note to put the rose red layer on the diamond, the rich razzleberry on the square and the watercolor paper on the top layer.
Attach the bow to the front of your card with a glue dot.

Stampin Up Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop ~ Pillow Gift Inspiration Hop

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop! This time around we are making projects that were inspired by our pillow gifts on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip to Hawaii in May. If you are coming here in order, you came from Kylie Bertucci's blog. Wasn't her project super cool?

I will admit, that when I got home my mojo was still somewhere on the Hawaiian Shoreline. Stampin' Up always knows how to spoil us. I will quote my sweet hubby, Brian here:

"If more people had the chance to earn an incentive trip just once, they would never want to miss another one!"
Here's a wonderful photo of Brian, sporting his Maui Jim's from the Alaska cruise. We were on our way downstairs to the welcome dinner, to pick up yet another pair of shades!

I really love how we got to pick the ones we wanted and they didn't just issue the same pair to every one of us. I love even MORE that my hubby was rewarded for all that he does to help me through the year, and he really does help me. From being the punch-master-fixer, to scoring paper or punching little flowers, my guy does it all!

So when I got home, I really wanted to use something from the sunglass theme, and I had tucked these away in my bag. The 2015 logo appeared on so many things of what we received, I decided to use this card to inspire me for my project today.

So here is my project share for today. I started by grabbing a stamp set that I preordered from the catalog, and it arrived home the same day I did. It's the "I Think You're Great" Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! and it goes live for Sale on June 2nd. Demonstrators can get theirs early during the preorder that is currently going strong.

I started by stamping the sentiment over and over, with different color combinations. I wanted to have a subtle pattern in the background. Here's a closer look at that background. I just stamped BOTH the sentiment, and the super cute floral looking pattern in the new Watermelon Wonder color, and kissed them together before stamping it on my Whisper White Card Stock.

This image marries up nicely with the 1 3/4 inch circle punch. When I got to the next step I wanted a scalloped circle underneath it, but my scalloped circle ended up being the same exact size. So, this was my "fix" to that issue. I just cut my scalloped circle in half and used it to frame the piece above.

Next, I wanted to scrunch up my ribbon for a more vintage feel. So, I used my fast fuse to make a line of adhesive down where the Designer Paper met my card stock and then just took a piece of ribbon and pinched it every 1/4" inch or so until I got to the end of the front of my card stock.

To secure it, I could have pulled out the sewing machine, but I decided on a nice piece of bakers twine to keep it simple! I tied the bakers twine around twice and tied it up with a bow. You could easily use a knot and it would look great too!

So, If you're still reading, I thought I'd show you which sunglasses we picked! I feel so totally blessed by my friends who make dreams like these possible. Traveling with Stampin' Up! is an amazing way to see the world because everywhere you go on vacation, you run into a friend that you happen to know!
