8/20 Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking with Tablescapes, Thankful for & gold metallic paper

Good Morning Friends!

I got some really awesome feedback from my facebook page when I posted this cute page set for my class on Friday night.  Click here to register for the class.

Would you like to come and make these cute pages with me?    The class is this Friday and I'll run two sessions.  One at 9AM and then anytime after 5 so you can come and make your pages right from work. 

So this set of pages uses the tablescape kit for Thanksgiving from Stampin' Up!  One $19.95 kit, makes enough place settings, candle holders, name tags and such for 10 people.  I love the little pocket and thought how cool it would be to  make it into a class.  So the base layer of these pages are chocolate chip 12 x 12 to match the kit. 

The word "thankful" is our new thinlits die.  I like to use a piece of wax paper between the die and the words.  Then I flip it over, and poke the holes (there are holes on the back to get the thin scripty type out.  Once it's started on one end, I just use my paper piercing tool.  (the poker) to dig it out of the back of the die.  It only takes a minute but it is really fabulous.

If you want to save the negative of what you cut out.  remember to save all the pieces to put them back together.  I showed a bunch of cards made with this die over on facebook last week.  Here's the link to that album.  I believe the link will work even if you're not a facebook person.

Christmas Scrapbooking, Stampin' Up! Style

I haven't done any journaling on these pages yet, but we made this beautiful set of pages at the last scrapbook meeting.  I'm going to have Brian write on them about our day of going to pick out a tree. 
Alexis begged us to get a "real tree" this year, so we went to a local tree farm, Turkey Hill.  I certainly don't need much for Christmas.  I'm just happy to be here and crafting.  It's awesome to see the joy on her face every time she comes in from school and belts out "Oh Christmas Tree"

I'm getting so excited about my scrapbook class tomorrow!  There are two sessions and my friends and I will each make two, 2 page layouts.  The cost of the class is $20, and they can take $10 of the class fee and put it towards an order if they wish (minimum $25).  Now that's a deal! 

This is one of the page set's that we will be making.

It's so pretty and RICH in person.  I need to figure out a better way to photograph my scrapbook pages.  The pictures do not do them justice!  There are sparkly snowflakes and a gorgeous element from the Merry & Type stamp set that we will ink up with markers and stamp, then cut with the big shot.

10/22 Perfectly Preserved, Orchard Harvest MDS Hybrid Scrapbooking Class Pages Share

PICKLES!!  That's what my nephew's say when they smile instead of "Cheese" and it's so adorable!  We did this fun set of pages (below) at the monthly scrapbooking night!

We make 4 pages (2, two page spreads) for $20.  Class participants can take $10 off their page fee with a purchase (min $25).

The next two dates are Friday November 9th at 9 am or 6:30 PM (which is flexible).  I am available any time after 5PM to start the class and the same bat time on December 14th. 

Here's one of the page sets that the class members made.  This one was a bit more simple (technique wise) than the other pages, but they are GORGEOUS in person!

 Now that you've seen the pages we made, I thought you might have some fun seeing how I used them with my own photos.  This year my husband, daughter and I canned our own pickles.  We had ONE cucumber plant that gave us so many cucumbers we were afraid they were going to go bad.

We had already tried making strawberry jam this year (which is FABULOUS, by the way) and thought it would be fun to make some homemade pickles!  Here's the full set of pages, with one of the jars of pickles that we made.

Banners are HOT this year, and I just love them.  We used the Orchard Harvest DSP (3 different patterns) to make this cute banner on the upper left side of the page.   I'm in LOVE with the in color dahlia's and actually saw some at Claire's on a pair of earrings.  I'm thinking I NEED to make my own! 

This part of the page makes me smile.  I used the Stampin' Up! Typeset Alphabet Bigz die to make the word PICKLES!!!  and it always makes me smile because of my nephews James & John.   I couldn't resist adding another Dahlia to the I in pickles.  Doesn't the DSP look like a pickle?  

 Nor could I resist adding another linen thread bow to the "L".  Sometimes, it's the little things that make me happy!

 Finally, I added some banners to my largest photograph.  I want whoever looks at my book to focus on the person, and the big white space in my photo was distracting.  I made it pretty with my banner, the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch, and a more mustard button.  I used a little more linen thread to thread the button.

10/18 Stampin Up! Ghoulish Googlies Scrapbooking

Good Morning Friends!

I'm getting back on schedule with a scrapbooking class tomorrow night.  Friends will make 4 pages for $20 and can take $10 off the class price with an order (minimum $25).

Check out the glimmer paper that we're turning tangerine tango!  I love how sparkly this paper is. 

These pages are stunning in real life.  I'm not sure the photo does them justice.  There's LOTS of bling, and LOTS of eyes. watching us in time for Halloween.

9/13 Stampin Up! Monster Munchies Scrapbooking!

Good Morning Friends!

Today is the last day to RSVP for tomorrow night's scrap booking class!  Here is the second set of pages we will be making.

I just love the monster munchies stamp set, and how about the home-made designer paper.  You really get a good feel of the illuminate stamp pad with these pages.

The translucent ghosts are so adorable!  Best of all, I'm ready for Halloween, with these pre~made pages to pop my photos in.

8/25 Stampin' Up! I AM (blessed)

Here's one reason why I'm blessed.  Yes I am!  I'm off to the Providence Rhode Island today for the Regional Seminar!  I'll be presenting a workshop wow today.  I certainly hope I get a "wow" in the crowd.  This is my fabulous team and the page we made at the team meeting this week.  First, we had a healthy dinner while enjoying a slide show with the "visual notes" from our trip to convention.

My hubby helped by cooking and he snapped this great photo of some of my team!  We printed the pictures and each member left with the page.  A few of the girls said they are going to frame the page to bring to workshops!

Scrapbook Class May 18th and 19th

Good Afternoon Friends!


I have been putting the finishing touches on my scrapbook in an evening/morning class.  Class Participants will make TWELVE 12 x 12 scrapbook pages in a few hours and be ready to roll to put pictures in!

Knock out a huge piece of your scrap booking to do list with these fun bright pages.  The pages could be used for almost anything where you need bright and happy pages.  

So I'm going to start with the Deadline.. I am ordering the supplies for this as I am prepaid for the class due to the amount of product offered.  Deadline to sign up is May 7th, or when the accents I'm using for this class sells out, whichever is sooner.  Please do not delay in signing up!

So here are the basic details:

Where: Selene's Stamp Pad
What: 12 page scrapbook class using the big top suite of products
When: Friday May 18th (anytime after 5:30)  OR Saturday at 10AM
Level of difficulty: 1 EASY!  Pages should take 2-3 hours to assemble and includes basic stamping and assembly

What's included?  

• 12 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock (base)
• 1/2 a pack of designer paper (we will use most of it)
• a full pack of quick accents
• 1 sheet of dimensionals
• 1 anywhere glue stick
• 1 tombo multipurpose adhesive
• Extra cardstock for cutting custom mattes to your cardstock and a short lesson on the easiest way to cut your card stock for common sizes.   If you want mattes all for 4x6, I will cut before you arrive if I know.  :)

Cost: $60 (that's $5 per page including embellshments!).  Remember! due to the amount of product included, this class must be prepaid.  In the event you are unable to make the class, I will give you the precut packet. 

OPTIONAL album add on:  Have the album ready to slip your photos into.

Scrapbooking Class Deadline Approaching!

Hey Everybody!

I thought some of you might like a reminder that the deadline to sign up for the tropical/beach themed scrapbook class is this Friday (the 13th). Please let me know if you are going to join us!

There are two sessions for this class. For the "route 2" crew, the class will be at Jenn B's house on Thursday the 19th starting at 6 PM. There is another session on Saturday the 21st at 10AM here at the stamping pad.

At this class you will make 8 summer themed pages. Four pages will be more tropical and the other four will have softer beach colors. The class should take about 3-4 hours to complete and you will leave with EIGHT awesome pages ready for your photos!

The class is $50 (prepaid by this Friday ~the 13th~so I can order supplies), which works out to $6.25 a page! Please bring your own adhesive (and a refill to be safe). Please do not delay, this class is full at 8 people per session.

Tropical Scrapbooking Workshop

Hey Everybody!

Just a quick update to all that have been asking. :) I put up an Alaska tracker on my blog, so the closer I get, you'll know about it! Right now I still need $2350 in sales... I'm still chugging along! I can't believe I am this close! Thanks to all who are helping by placing and collecting orders, and to those just cheering me on! (((hugs)))

My good friend Kim is having a workshop for me tomorrow night. She told me a little bit about who was coming and I decided to change up from my normal scrapbook workshop format. Three people from the same family will be attending, so I decided rather than them leave with three of the same exact project, that we would make mini books.

I spent the day yesterday with some of my BSF's (best stamping friends ~ aren't we all bsf's?) Barbara and Priscilla. They are in my "adopted" downline, but they really don't feel like it. I feel like they are truly part of my team. They contribute so much to the group. Anyway, they had the most wonderful stamping event yesterday.

I was in desperate need of a break, so I went and spent a few hours at their wonderful event. Before I left, Barbara handed me a project to help with inspiration for my scrap booking workshop. The girls made this at an event for stampin up demonstrators quite some distance from where we live. If this is your original design, please let me know, and I will give you proper credit here. :) I thought the idea was wonderful!

I of course made some changes to the book, it was originally in so saffron, and I substituted for items that I already had on hand. Contrary to popular belief (among my closest stampin friends) I do not own everything in the book as much as I would like to! ;)

Anyway, i think this really fits the bill for tomorrow night and I'm so looking forward to this! Do you live local and would like to join us? Becky's Party ~ Build a Page.

Thanks to all who weighed in on my workshop card for this weeks workshops... I was still having a bit of a block for tonight's workshop for my good friend Becky.

Sometimes scrapbooking can be overwhelming in the 12 x 12 size. Today I'd like to show you a way to build your pages that doesn't seem so daunting.

One of Becky's guests called me today to ask a question.. While I was racking my brain what to do tonight. She said that her sons birthday theme is going to be the old west! Instantly I had ideas on what to do.... So, all the guests at tonight's workshop will make the very pretty vintage share from earlier this week. and this 6x6 page.

Becky's little boy at the playground makes an awesome "wanted" page, with him behind the bars! So funny! I used a bit of twine and a mini clip to make the lasso in the upper left hand corner of my page... My goodness, I'm happy with this one!

Next ~ at the workshop, I'm going to quickly show how to build a page. Using random images from the same set, I stamped a background on 12 x 12 paper. I added an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of burgundy on top of that (and didn't need to cut anything ~ isn't THAT cool?). Then I matted another 5x7 and and cut a journaling block out from scraps and stamped the 4 corners.. A little ribbon, and a punched star, and this is ready to go.... Are you ready to try a build a page??

Kid Friendly ABC Albums

I met this wonderful lady at a craft fair about two years ago, Sharon.

She used to live an hour away on the north shore, and now she lives down towards Cape Cod which is a good 1 to 1 1/2 hour drive from me. I had made a really cute ABC's book for my daughter that she saw with the mini on board books (that have since retired).

Sharon called to make a date, and we met up (after waiting for some time) last Friday night. We had SO much fun.

I didnt' have all the same supplies (cause many of them retired), so we pulled out retired papers, chose different ones for the different children (based on personality) and went to town! We had so much fun. Her children will be able to write right on the page protectors to practice their letters. A simple swipe with a damp cloth and they can do it again! Sharon got extra page protectors to insert photos randomly, and she plans on making them into tiny little scrapbooks.

So ~ this is the result of what we did last Friday night! So fun to just sit and craft with a buddy over pizza! I know that many of the papers and colors you're seeing here are not available for purchase any more. What supplies do you have that could make an awesome creation like this? Use them up!!

Class Quilt

A craft project came home this week with a sketch from school. It was on a piece of copy paper, and as a family, we were to decorate a square for a class quilt for my daughter's classroom.

We were to work as a family on our quilt piece and it was supposed to have all our names on it.

So, we sat down as a family, pulled out some retired paper and got to work.

My husband did the measuring and we all picked some of the patterns.

We all colored our own snowman and alexis turned the crank for the big shot pieces. I cut the paper and helped them to assemble the project.

It was really fun to sit down and do a craft project as a family. really cool!

Fall Scrapbooking

I've been crazy in my personal life this week. My daughter got accepted to a new preschool on Friday, that's closer to my home and I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off since.

The paperwork that you have to fill out, takes more time than it does when you are getting married! Then they sent us shopping for clothes and other things.. but I'm finally done and breathing a bit easier today.

My scrapbook Club meets tonight, and I bet they WISH we were making this page.. I had some fun with the suspension technique which is usually used in cardmaking.. I'm thinking I will just cut the page protector so you can still play with the element..

This hot air balloon ride is at storyland in new hampshire and we spent a day there going on EVERY ride we could find! Her favorite is the hot air balloon ride. Mom is not a big fan of heights, but I would do almost anything for my daughter. When you flip the suspension part of my page over, theres a photo of alexis and I in the balloon waiting in line to get on the ride.
There's an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of paper glued onto the 12x12" piece, and cut with scissors to create the whimsical effect.. I had a fun time making the pages and capturing our day on paper. This one will be going straight in the album.

Owl Hostess Page

I'm sorry I haven't posted all week. My daughter hasn’t been feeling well and that puts a wrench in plans sometimes... First things first. That is the beauty of being a SU! demo, if you need to take a break and focus on family, you can!

Anyway, Last night I had the MOST FABULOUS workshop! My friend Michelle is the "hostess with the mostest" and is such an awesome cook, she should get an award at my hostess appreciation event.

I asked her yesterday to send me some photos. We made the owl bag topper (listed below on my blog) and then I showed how to build a page from a 6x6 up to a 12 x 12. I left out the middle step. I like a 5x7 picture on mine instead.

For the base, I used a glue stick to attach a grey piece of cardstock to a bashful blue one. on that level I used several of the images from the Owl Together Now stamp set, to make a background, just stamped in a wallpaper type fashion in versamark ink.

I made my little bag topper, and cut a second piece of white cardstock with my sizzix for the base and made that into a little hidden journal area. In the top corner, I put two owls on the branch and water colored the scene, because she has two children and I was thinking too much again. I attached some retired pumpkin ribbon with a stapler and attached that piece with dimensionals.
