11/6 Stampin' Up! Open Sleigh and Colored Glimmer Paint ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 13

Good Morning Friends!

Day 13 of the 25 Day's of Christmas projects!  I hope that you are enjoying the projects so far.  I have to say, this is my FAVORITE card of the series so far!

In this picture, you can't see how very sparkly the ink is.  It's a mixture of 5 drops of champagne glimmer paint and 5 drops of early espresso reinker mixed together.  I just grabbed a sponge dauber and sponged the ink onto both stamps and stamped my sleigh and sentiment.

I'll be using this card at my stamp a stack's next week and I'm SURE that my stampers will LOVE this card and how quickly it goes together!

There are 3 main layers, and 3 banners.

Layers: 
Base: Very Vanilla 8 1/2 x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4", this layer was also embossed with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
Layer 2: Early Espresso 4 1/4" square, cut with a Labels Collection Framelit die
Layer 3: Stamped very vanilla 4" square, cut with the next smaller framelit die from the Labels Collection.
The banners are a 1" and 1/2" piece of Candlight Christmas Specialty paper, both of the strips are cut down to 1 1/2" inches and glued under the layers.
The Champagne glimmer paper was also 1/2" x 1 1/2" strip.

The picture here shows the glimmer a little bit, but in real life it's awesome,  When you run your finger over it almost feels embossed because of the paint which sits on top of the smooth card stock.

11/5 Stampin' Up! Occasions Alphabet, Petite Purse Bigz L Tutorial, Candlight Christmas Specialty & Champagne Glimmer Paper ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 12

Good Morning Friends!

Today I have a very sweet treat purse to share with you.  Imagine getting a little something sweet in this gorgeous packaging!  I love just LOVE little packages, especially ones that have things that sparkle inside! Today's post has a tutorial on how to assemble this very sweet Petite Purse.

 This little purse is SO impressive in person, and it goes together in under a minute.  I even decided to do a little layering.  So, first, I cut my designer paper to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", and with some of the extra to cut a second "flap" for the top.

Step 2 would be to glue the extra flap onto the purse like this.

I have to say, I love how "heavy" this makes the top of the purse and it helps it to sit down and fold up nicely. In the past when making these I had trouble keeping them closed.

Another way to help with that is to take your bone folder and slightly bend the flap (now that it's together) to make it easier for the top to close.

Next, apply a VERY thin line of glue to the side flap on each side of the box.  **Note, don't use too much of the Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive or it will get messy.  Just a little bit will do ya!

Then, I applied just a little more glue and stuck the flap for the handle to the inside of the purse.  This is PLENTY to hold, but if you want a decorative finish, you could punch a hole and put a brad through for extra support.  (wait till the glue is dry if you're going to do that).  I kept mine pretty simple.

When it came time to decorate mine, I wanted a VERY small "merry" on the front, so I grabbed my Occasions Alphabet 117090w / 123598c.  I found "M" is for merry in the mix and just inked up the word I wanted.  I omitted the other words.  Then I punched the word out with the element from the Little Labels Punch Pack 126881~  So Cute!!

It's fun that something so little, could show up so Dimensional!  I added a 1/8" strip of paper, and a glimmery snowflake, from the Snow Flurry Die and just layered my "merry" on top!  I also sponged a little red ink around the frame.  This is so adorable and would make a great package for those "little boxed" gifts on your list!  :)

11/3 Stampin Up Bold Snowflake and More Merry Messages , Snow Flurry and Northern Flurry Embossing Folder ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 11

Good Evening Friends!

What a quick and beautiful card, this new Bold Snowflake Stamp makes!  It is in the Assortment 2 of the single stamps that are available now through January 2.  Here are the fliers for the single stamps so you can check them out.

So the Bold Snowflake 132338, coordinates perfectly with the blossom punch 125603.  So for this card I started with the second layer (which is bashful blue card stock cut to 5 x 3 3/4").  First, I took that sheet and embossed it with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder 120902. Next, I took a 6" piece of 1/8" taffeta ribbon in the Marina Mist color 119257, and used snail adhesive to stick it to the back of that layer.  I stamped the Bold Snowflake on Bashful Blue Scrap Card Stock, and punched it out with the blossom punch.   Using the Snow Flurry Sizzix Die 127813, I cut out the smallest snowflake element from the die and stuck it on top of my punched image.  Then, I used my table top paper cutter to cut a "thread thin" piece of cardstock, and used it to thread my button.  I used a glue dot to hold it in place and stuck all the element of my Bold Snowflake together, and then stuck that to the card.  I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Marina Mist Ink.  Then, I stuck the completed card to the base. 

Here comes the fun part!  I grabbed a brand new Stampin' Spritzer bottle and made my own glimmer paint! I filled the bottle a little more than half full, then added 5 drops of reinker (in bashful blue) and 5 drops of reinker.  I shook the mixture then sprayed it on.  Here's what the glimmer looks like.  It's pretty subtle, but it looks AWESOME in real life.

I love all that sparkle!!

Today's Christmas project share is a Joy card.  I'm using the Flourish Designer Frames again on this card.  Both the cards yesterday and today are reward cards for members of my group who reached a certain sales level in September.  They will receive two packages of the Designer Frames, and the completed cards to give them ideas for upcoming projects.

So what do you think of my funky layers on this card?

This was a fairly easy card to put together, but I love the fun layers.

Here is a message about embossing from yesterdays post.   It still applies!  :) So when you emboss, you typically want to use an embossing buddy to remove any imperfections from the card stock.  Then you stamp with a sticky ink like versamark or craft ink.  For this sample I used versamark.  Then, you pour the powder on..  Here's the BIG IMPORTANT TIP!!  Have a paintbrush handy and brush off any unwanted flecks of embossing power BEFORE you heat for a flawless embossing job!  

So some measurements:
Base Layer: Midnight Muse 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"

11/1 Stampin' Up! Bells & Boughs, Flourish Designer Frames Santa Jacket Card, Heat Embossing Tip ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 9

Good Afternoon!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the way!!  This card has certainly put me in the Christmas card making mood!! :)  Although it's pretty simple to make, it's got a sparkle in real life that'll just poke you in the eye!  Know what I'm sayin'?

So ~ I wanted to make a card for my workshop with Laura and friends tomorrow night that would both be fun and REALLY jingle~like, while keeping it pretty simple for a new stamper.  This has techniques, but it's not too hard and THAT my friends, just makes me chuckle (like a bowl full of jelly)!  Okay, enough of me being silly (no promises) but let's get to talking about this card.

First, the VERY VINTAGE sentiment A Merry Christmas, comes from the prettiest little stamp set called Bells & Boughs.  It's in the main catalog (which sometimes gets neglected at this time of year) and is only $14.95 for the clear set and $19.95 for Wood Mount. I get this question all the time.  For the Bells & Boughs, you'd need one "D" clear block for the clear mount stamp set, which is 8.50 and it would cover you for all the images in the set.  Once you own the clear blocks, you simply pull the stamp off and stick it to the case, and you're ready to use the next stamp.  So, that's why there's a price difference in the book.  You would have to pay for the wood blocks separately.

Anyway ~ I embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder on black card stock!  My new stampers are going to LOVE this!

Next, I punched the sentiment out using the coordinating Decorative Label Punch (which is the same shape as the Flourish Designer Frames and set this aside for a moment.

The White layer going up the center of the card was cut to 4 x 1" and embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  127819

Next, I punched a circle from the Itty Bitty Punch pack 118309 out of black cardstock and stuck two of them to my strip of white using tombo multipurpose adhesive.

To finish Santa's buttons I added two of the smallest sized Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons 127555, and topped that with a large self adhesive Rhinestone 119246. 

Here's another look at the gorgeous embossed focal point.  Isn't this stunning?  It's so much prettier in person!

Base Layer: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
Layer 2: 5 1/8" x 3 5/8" basic black (**note my "button circles" were punched out of this layer too)
Layer 3: Real Red 5 x 3 3/4"
Layer 4: Whisper White 4 x 1",
Layer 5: Basic black 4 x 1"
Layer 6: Basic Black embossed and punched scrap cardstock.
Layer 7: Flourish Designer Frame held on with two mini brads

10/31 Stylin Snowfolk, Seasonal Sayings and Angry Birds Punch Art Treats for School! ~ 25 Days of Christmas Day 8

Good Morning Friends and Happy Halloween! 

I am continuing the 25 days of Christmas projects here today.  I made this card after playing with my daughters Angry Birds Treats that went to school today.  So I'll quickly talk about this Stylin Sistah, then we'll talk about the angry birds, okay?  :)

This could be my Halloween Costume.  A self portrait of me as a snow woman!  :)   The "Peace on Earth" and snowflakes, along with the snow on the ground is just the illuminate stamp pad!  I love the color it makes on regular cardstock, and there's no heat setting required if you use it by itself!  Yea!

The colors of this were inspired by the treats I just sent off to school with my little pumpkin (who is rockin her witch costume today).

Anyway.  There are a lot of little pieces to this.  I LOVE the shaker ball eyes from the mini. I know they are intended for Halloween projects, but don't cha' think they look good on my stylin' mama? 

I stamped all the black with stazon, and the colors with markers.  I cut out the pieces.  I also made a scarf, but since it **just** started snowing on my card and the grass is still green, she wen without the scarf.  The carrot nose is cut and pieced onto my diva snowchick and so is the cute hat with the big pink flower.  The flower die used on the paper below it, mirrors the flower in her hat! So fun to make, and I love all the little pieces!

This stamp set has 22 stamps in all.  it's a really cute set!  You can build your snow person to be whomever he/she is supposed to be!  :)  Wicked cute!

So I'm really excited this morning to share some other goodies that just went out the door.  My daughter was SO excited when she left for school this morning.

When she got up, they were finally finished!  The "Angry Birds" treat boxes that we all made together.  She cut the boxes, and did some punching. Dad and I really spent some time on these.

So now you must be really ready to see them, are ya? :)

So, here is our Angry Bird Army, getting ready to be stuffed to the gills with peanut free treats!

 And here is Dad's.  We put a few more things in his.  The kids each got bubbles in the shape of an eyeball (of course), rice crispy treats, two twizzlers, and a pack of the Welches Fruit Snacks.

There's no way these would have been finished without my big, strong, handsome hubby to help me with all that punching!  He even skipped his favorite TV show last night to help me knock these out. 

There's all sorts of shapes in there. Circles, flower petals (that I cut down). The top of the yellow bird's head I cut with scissors about 8-10 times, then black marker to make the top of the "fuzz". The eyebrows are a candle from the cupcake punch. The red guy has a heart glued behind his head for the feather. The beaks are another flower punch that I cut down. And LOTS of shaker ball eyes.

The box itself is the Fancy favor box, and Alexis cut all of those out by herself.

The green paper was cut from a 3 inch square, then I just took my exacto knife and made the ground.  Two I just made the slice, then could use the both halves.  Does that make sense?
