Stampin Up: Just Believe and New Firm Foam Ink Pads

Good Morning Friends!

Today is my little one's last day of first grade.  We already got word from the school that she managed high honors for the year.  Isn't that amazing?  Today, I have to pick her up for the half day and I'm thinking a celebration lunch, taking her where ever she wants to go.

She's very excited and reminds me daily that I offered her $5 an A.  Hopefully her enthusiasm will stay there when she gets up into the higher grades.  It's all happening so fast.  I still want her to slow down and be my little princess a while longer.

This is another card from my first stamp camp of the new catalog.  It was very simple to make, but we all had to wash our hands after the sponging piece before we could assemble our cards.

The new firm foam ink pads are absolutely wonderful!  To use them, I have found a gentle tap, tap tap to ink up yields glorious coverage on your bold stamps.  When inking a fine image, like scripty text, barely touch the stamp to the ink pad.  it's definitely something that those of us with a heavy hand will have to get used to.

I started by punching a 1 1/4" circle out of a piece of card stock and placing that "mask" down on my white paper.  Using So saffron ink, I colored in a circle with a sponge to make my moon.  Next I took another stampin sponge and generously sponged some baja breeze ink all over the card, except for my moon area.

Next, I stamped my focal point and sentiment with the midnight muse ink pad. Then I sponged around the edges to make it pop.  For the ribbon I cut two pieces.  One was cut to 5 1/2" and the other to 10".  I used a bit of snail adhesive to put the short piece around the bottom, leaving a little lag, then tied a bow on with the longer piece and I trimmed the excess.

I cant wait to be able to order mine in all the colors.  The ink pads are 5.95 each, but if you order a color family of 10, it's like getting two for free at 49.95.

The lush and dark blue on this card is the new midnight muse.  If you want all the new in color ink pads, you can basically get a free pack of paper by going with the Card stock and ink pad kit. At 5.95, the 5 inkpads come to 29.75, and for twenty cents more, you can get a bundle with 20 sheets of matching cardstock!  I love that!  :)
