Celebrate U!

Good Morning Friends!

Thinking back on the meeting with my team this week, I'm so thankful for friendship.  This was the fun swap I chose to make.

This swap card is so appropriate for my feelings when it comes to them.  Take all my favorite things, add some color, personality, style and that describes the ladies in my group perfectly!  Each person brings their own special talents to the team and I learn from them every time they grace my doorstep.  Love you girls!

This month's theme was a color challenge, "Crumb Cake" and the in colors that will be good till 2013.  (any combination).  This month Bonnie picked the theme and the cards are GORGEOUS! It's Miss Regina's turn to pick the theme for our March 11th meeting.  I cant wait to see what she'll pick!

I started with Mary Jo "technostamper" sketch challenge from last Monday, then changed it to use the stamp I wanted.  So, first let's talk about the center panel of this card.  I just love the "packed for everything stamp bundle" in fact, I earned the bundle for free!

Thank You Stampin' Up!  This stamp is one stamp in the group of 4 that all look the same.  It's easy to make a personal, beautiful, card in a short amount of time, and just add a few special embellishments.  You don't really need to color every image, just the important ones.  I started with the flower and the coffee cup (a few of my favorite things).  Then, I added color to the purse.  Here's the fun part!  I punched a few holes at the base of the purse strap and inserted about 3" piece of ribbon it's stuck to the back of the shimmer white card stuck.  Then, I took a tiny dot of green glue and stuck the top of the purse handle down to the image.  It took me a while to make 12 of these, but it was well worth it!  This month we were lucky enough to have some packages from team members who are out of state.  I'll be sharing all those swaps on my facebook page this week.  You wont want to miss their awesome cards!

There's a lot of FREE products on theses cards also.  There's the special designer paper Everyday Enchantment(126154), the matching Brad and ribbon from the Ribbon and brad pack (127279) and then the "Celebrate" comes from the Outlined Occasions stamp set 126014w/126016c.

Each of these items are available for FREE with each $50 purchase you make, no limit!

So this was the original sketch card I did for Mary Jo's challenge.

For both cards I also stamped "celebrate" at the top of the card, colored it with the coral marker, then painted it with crystal effects.  It's so puffy and shiny in real life.

After it had a nice glow on it, I took a little glitter and sprinkled it over the top.  After 12 I was stylishly covered in glitter.  ;-)

Here's a close up. of the crystal effects.  So pretty!!  Finally I took out my FAVORITE big shot alphabet set 115951Timeless Type and cut out a "u" for the front of my card.  I added crystal effect and dazzling diamonds to that element as well.

Great cards Selene--that is only the second card I have seen with the packed for everything bundle. Great job, I really love the second card. Beautiful ribbon! Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week!
