Saturday Sketch Challenge 190 ~ Shadowed Stamping Sympathy

Good Evening Friends!

It's time for another sketch challenge from your operators at stamping 411. This is Gretchen's week at the sketch board and I just have to say, I {heart} this sketch! I can see this one being one that I will go back to over and over again.

Unfortunately, I need some sympathy cards. At first glance, this stamp set, Nature Walk is not one that I would purchase. Having seen so many amazing samples with it, I was left feeling inspired.... and now I don't want to put it down!

I used the "stamp off" technique to get the shadowed stamping in the background. So I inked up with markers and "huffed the back of the stamp", stamped full strength. then immediately stamped again to create the shadow stamping.

How about some measurements...
Base: 11 x 4 1/4" (Vanilla)
Layer 2: 4 x 5 1/4" (Vanilla)
Layer 3: 2 x 4 7.8" (Artichoke)
Layer 4: 1 7/8" x 4 3/4" (Botanical Gazette DSP)
Layer 5: 3 7/8" x 2 7/8" (Artichoke)
Layer 6: 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" (Vanilla)

I also used Marina mist Satin Ribbon, and a gorgeous Vintage Brad to finish it off! I used the finial press embossing folder on the second layer. Soft and beautiful, I think I may have a new favorite color combination. I'm happy that this is going in the mail, even before this post will hit my blog, but sorry about the reason I need to send it. :D

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! TGIF!

Rubbah hugs,
Selene Kempton

This is absolutely stunning while still being very calming. A perfect sympathy card. I am sorry that you need to make the card, but someone will experience a moment of peace and awe when they receive it.

Beautiful sympathy card. I would never have thought to use that stamp set for that particular event, but it works and I love it.

I'm so sorry you needed to make sympathy cards. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog for my first sketch challenge. I was so nervous to link it up after seeing all the amazing cards others make. I'm so happy to have found something SO helpful for me... I love that there are some "starter" dimensions for cutting too, so I don't have to spend 1/2 hour figuring that out!
