3/30 Best of Flowers at Stamp Club! Featured Artist's Gina and Bonnie

Good Morning Friends!

I love my stamp club.  More over, I love the people who come and visit me every SINGLE month and take the time out of the busy schedules to take a little time for themselves.  I try and make stamp club the one hour escape from the every day.  It's only once a month and my clubbers are like part of the family.

Relationships have been formed and friends come together.  What really excites me is that friends meet here become closer and schedule time together outside club.  Grandmothers and granddaughters find a fun thing to bond over and more...  I love even more when creativity blossoms right in front of me.

My girlfriends Gina and Bonnie have been stamping with me for over 6 years.  In fact, they have been demonstrators (for the discount mostly) on my team for just about that long too.  One thing I love about a bunch of smart, wonderful ladies gathering together is right here!  This month when Gina and Bonnie visited me, they took my "best of flowers" project from class and redesigned it a bit.  They so made it better.  (swoon!).  Instead of sharing my project from this month, I'd like to show you what they made during class.  First, here is Gina's version of the Best of Flowers card from class.
I love the purple against the daffodil yellow.  She actually flipped my card from the original, and changed the daisy line so that it wasn't in a perfect row, but scattered.  I love her soft blender pen work on the center of the focal point and the soft and pretty sponging on the thank you banner.

Here's a look at the Best of Flowers Stamp Set.  Three of these images are from sets across Stampin' Up!'s 25 years and one is a brand new, never seen before image.   I love the images in this one particularly!  The flower from "because I care" is much smaller in the new stamp set, so it coordinates with the one I have tucked away in the stash I'll never sell.  :) The "best of" stamp sets are only $14.95 plus tax (where applicable) and shipping.
The small daisy stamp is a perfect fit for the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch!  It makes a great border on this card.  My good friend Bonnie, made the border even more dispersed in this pretty card below.

Aren't they beautiful?
There are three "Best Of Sets" that have been released so far.  For each one, you get a "25" year anniversary sticker.  Collect 6 stickers and send the little post card into stampin up for a free stamp set ($14.95 or less). There will be a brand new "best of" set released on Monday!

Thanks for stopping by today!

3/29 Baby Prints and Cuddles and Kisses Baby Cards

Good Evening Friends!

On a personal note, I took mom to the doctor today and she's doing great with healing.

About 3 more weeks and she gets her cast off, thanks so much for your prayers and well wishes.  She's doing great!

I created this baby trio of cards for a stamp a stack last month and everyone loved them!  I started with the Baby Prints and Cuddles and Kisses Stamp Sets.  These sets are amazing!!  The Baby Prints is one that will be in my collection LONG after it retires.  It's always so cool to make hand print and feet cards for baby, and they come together so quickly!  Here's a look at the whole stamp set.  Awesome, huh?  This stamp set is SO useful!  I used it also in scrapbook class this month for non-baby pages for the "cherish the moments" stamp.  Isn't that a great phrase for a scrapbook page?
I'm just TOO excited about these.  The other stamp set Cuddles and Kisses is another STAPLE with hard to find sentiments that I know I'm never going to want to part with.

Here are the trio of cards we made.  We stamped the images on a precut Window Frames Collection Die Cuts. So simple! so pretty! So there is so saffron, pool party and pink pirouette.  All the cards have wisteria wonder in between the top and base layers.  The white layers were also sponged with wisteria wonder ink.  Aren't they cool?
Here's a close up  look at each of the cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

3/27 Everybunny Scalloped Envelope Die, Easter Basket.

Hey There Stampers!

How about a little Easter basket for you?  This basket is made from the scalloped envelope die.  I made this in my Easter class last week.  It's really fun to make these boxes. I cut 4 of the envelope dies, cut one of the flaps off and glued the 4 of them together.

I layered some 2 x 3" pieces of designer paper on the outside of the box to decorate it!

The chickadee is from the Everybunny stamp set.  Isn't this the cutest little box ever?
It goes together in just a few minutes and is oh so adorable!  :)   I just love the colors here!  baja breeze, tangerine tango, and rich razzleberry!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

How about some more bunny love?  I'm really in the mood for Easter (a week from Sunday ~ yikes!!) after playing with my Everybunny stamp set this week!

These line art images lend themselves to watercolor so well!.. AND!! How about that Gorgeous Sale-A-Bration Ribbon, that will be g-o-n-e after today!  That's right!  Today is the VERY LAST day to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration!  I have already added FOUR new team members to my team and even though today is the last day, I have two more girls telling me they might jump on board too!  (I just had to edit that because one signed up while I was writing this post!  ~ Hi Rue!)  Woohoo!  At $99 for $156.50 worth of stamps, who wouldn't want to join?

This is also a very exciting time to join because of all of the tools Stampin' Up is putting into place to help new demonstrators, STAY demonstrators!  Yea!!  If you'd like to read more about that, you can click here to see an email that I sent to my customers this morning

Or, if you just want some of the cute Sale-A-Bration stamp sets before they are GONE forever, just click here to check out the FREE goodies you can get with a $50 purchase, or join my ONLINE STAMP PARTY, which is ending tonight at 8!

So, how about some more details about my Everybunny Bunny.  {that makes me smile}

I started with a pretty in pink base, then layered some So Saffron, and Baja Breeze on top of that!  These are all the colors that are nestled in my Tea for Two Designer Series paper!

I used the Blossom Punch to frame my 2 1/2" circle focal point.  I just punched the flower out of the layer underneath the designer paper, cut it in half, then sponged around the edges to make it pop a little.  The sentiment was stamped in Island Indigo Ink, and punched with the Modern Label Punch!  I popped up the Happy Easter sentiment using a few dimensionals.  This card just makes me happy!

I hope you have an AWESOME weekend!  I'll have some more projects on tap to share with you over the weekend and into next week!

3/21 Stampin' Up! Hello Mr. Bunny Love, punch art Gift card Holder.

Good Morning Friends!
I was so surprised when I sent out the email for this Friday's class, the sheer response I would get from Mr. Easter Bunny (I've been calling him bunny love).  I saw this bunny, or a close rendition of it on Pinterest and it was by fellow demonstrator Pam Staples.  I didn't save the picture... ugh! but if you have a link to hers, please leave it for me and I'll link back to it. She had it in baby blue and pinks and I believe hers was a box.

It's so cool how we can all inspire one another.  I used this bunny last week in scrapbooking class, and everyone loved him.. So, I thought an with an Easter Themed class we'd make one.

I used 3 colors of paper: Whisper white, Pool Party and black. All white and pool party pieces were sponged with Island Indigo classic ink.
For this project you'll need a white gel pen for sure!  It really brings the bunny to life!

Big Shot:  Top Note Die 113463, and heart collection framelits for the nose (smallest one) 125599

Here's a list of all the punches I used:
119859 Extra Large oval x6 (whisper white ~ 4 ears, 2 feet)
119855 Large Oval x2 (pool party ~ 2 ears)
119868 1" circle (pool party ~ 2 feet)
117193 small heart punch (pool party ~ 6 feet)
119860 1 1/4" circle punch (whisper white ~ 2 nose)
119873 3/4" circle (black ~ 2 eyes)

So, for the front of the bunny, I just sponged all the pieces and stuck them together with the tombo, multipurpose adhesive liquid glue.  I sliced 3 very thin strips of whisper white on my Stampin' Up! paper trimmer, and used a dimensional to hold them down on the front of my bunny face.  Then I stuck the two center circles together to form the nose.  I also added two dimensionals to either side of the circles and popped up the nose.    On either side of the nose I added some marks with a grey marker.

If you need supplies to make this bunny, I am running an online party right now!  It's a mystery hostess event and someone is going to win some fun hostess benefits!  For more details on that click here!
Don't miss out on Sale-A-Bration!  Every single year I get someone who forgot to place an order to get their free goods!  After tomorrow, I won't be able to help them either!  For more samples with Sale-A-Bration sets, just click here!

Oh! I almost forgot!  To make the "gift card holder" piece that the bunny sticks to. I cut a piece of 12 x 12 down to 12 x 4".  I scored the paper at 2" and 6" and folded the paper up into itself and cut the holder and the base of the card all in one swoop!  (I might need a video to show that, but if you just try it... you'll see it's not that hard).  You could so do it!

Thanks so much for the kind comments and for coming to visit!  See you tomorrow with some more fun from the class coming up tomorrow night.  Oh and don't forget to join the online party!  For more details on that click here!

If you're local and want to take this class, please hurry on signing up (click here)! At the class everything will be pre-punched for you. Signup deadline is today!

3/20 Nature Walk, Teeny Tiny Wishes & Floral District DSP Easter Card

Good Morning Friends!

I am adding an impromptu Easter class based on feedback from my stampers!  Easter is a week from Sunday, and it sort of snuck up on me!  I've been a busy little bee with classes, club, scrap booking and private classes.  With Sale-A-Bration winding down tomorrow I wanted to add one more class to my schedule!

On a personal note, it's been quite a week!  Last week, my mom (72) took a fall walking home from CVS.  She lives about 45 minutes away from me.

Now that everything is good, I can share the story.  Someone saw her take the fall and called 911.  She took it on the chin and needed a few stitches on the front of her chin underneath.  During the fall, she did end up breaking her left wrist.

So, when the police dept, fire department and ambulance showed up (God love her) she was embarrassed and refused any help. She was out for her walk and was going to continue on her way home... and she did.  Crazy, stubborn, wonderful lady.  By the time she got home, the bleeding hadn't stopped and her wrist had swollen up so my sister took her to the ER to get her patched up.  Thankfully she got the "green" light and will not require surgery!  This morning she's home with a cup of tea, feet up, and her new waterproof "kelly green" cast to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!  My mom is so cool.  Crazy!, but cool.  Hi Mom, you're rockin' that cast!!  :)

I'm looking at this card on my computer screen and thinking that once again, it's so much prettier in person!  After the eventful week, I went and looked to see if I could find a sketch challenge to get my mojo moving and found this one over on split coast stampers.  What a pretty layout!
When I saw the pretty layout I immediately thought of the floral district designer paper I have here! For some reason, I bought 3 packs, forgot, and bought 3 more!  So I have plenty of fun coming with this DSP (designer series paper)!  It's the perfect time of year to break it out!

In staying with the colors of the DSP, I inked my flower from Nature Walk, with Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry markers.  For me, as long as it matches, I don't mind if my leaves aren't "Kelly Green."  The Happy Easter sentiment comes from my Go-To Stamp Set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I sponged almost all the layers.  I thought that the card needed another "use" for the color yellow, so I added a button to the banner bundle at the bottom of the card.

For my newsletter subscribers, I'm running a mystery hostess event that ends tomorrow.  For more details on that click here!  If you are not on my newsletter and would like to hear from me about specials and classes, you can subscribe there as well (there's a link at the top to subscribe).

Wishing you all health and happiness coming into this Easter season!

3/5 New Color Challenge! Sahara, Suede, Primrose Love & Sympathy Clean and Simple Card

Good Morning Friends!

Today's card is VERY clean and simple.  I made it for a stamp a stack that is being held here in the studio this week.  I love this color combination so much I'm going to do another color challenge!  If you'd like to play along, just make a card and link it below!

The colors are not perfect in the photo here.  This color combination is STUNNING in real life.  I mean, you SERIOUSLY need to try this one on for size!

The colors are Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Primrose Petals (with a side of vanilla).  It's yummy scrumptious, I promise!

The base layer is 4 1/4" x 11", sahara sand and it is scored at 5 1/2" and embossed with the  Lacy Brocade embossing folder  This color combination is simply AMAZING in real life.  It's most certainly my favorite card in the set (although I really do like them all).

The primrose layer measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and the vanilla top piece is 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" (or 1/8 inch smaller on both sides).

I had every intention of using lovely as a tree, and when I started playing, this color combination just came to me.  I think this stamp set Love and Sympathy is not only stunning, it's inexpensive too at $11.95 for clear mount.
So, for the stamping, it was so EASY!  I inked the main flower image up with Sahara Sand and Primrose Petals markers, then added the sentiment on top with Soft Suede and Primrose markers.  I also stamped the sentiment inside to finish off the card, and used the leftover ink to add a "stamped off" floral image to the inside as well.

I know I say this a lot, but layering your ink can be just as dramatic as adding a layer of paper, when it's done in the right place.  Swoon!

It might be difficult to see, but I added some dazzling diamonds glitter on top of the flower using a 2-way glue pen.  The finishing touch is a scrap piece of the Primrose Petals 3/8" stitched satin ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my artwork with you!  Now it's your turn.  I'd love for you to play along and share your artwork here!   Just link up in the next week or so

3/5 Some Wonderful News!

Good Morning Friends!

Today I'd like to share some news that's SO very exciting for me.  Last year, I started following a training program by my friend Ronda Wade.  Over the past year, Ronda and I have become very good friends.  I respect her.  Her ethical business practices and the fact that she teaches from walking in the path.  She teaches tried true business building techniques.

Today, I'm so excited to be accepting a position with her as an administrator for her training.  I'll be handling the back end of things helping folks get into training if they need assistance getting on the calls and eventually so much more.

Here's the post from Ronda's facebook page:
Ronda writes "Beyond grateful and excited about the newest member of the Creating Success team!! Selene is jumping on board to help with the administrative side of things, and I know we'll have much more in store for her!!! So if you email me...you might get our newest member as well!! She'll surely email you back even faster!"

I'm so excited to be a part of the Creating Success Team and will do my best to service the training clients in a timely manner.  Happy Dance!!

Thanks for letting me share this morning.

3/4 Pursuit of Happiness, Up, Up & Away, Sycamore street Designer Paper

Good Morning Friends!

In this busy life we lead, there is ALWAYS a need for a quick and simple card, wouldn't you say?

The style of this card is CAS or Clean and Simple!  This card is fun, light and airy and will hopefully take you up and away when thinking about your own crafting projects!  :) The measurements are quite simple on this layout.
I started with a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" whisper white piece of card stock (scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"), and layered some Sycamore Street Designer Paper on top.  The zig zag pattern is cut 5 1/2" x 1", and the polka dots are 5 1/2" x 1 3/4".  Layer them on your card stock and you're ready for a focal point.

I stamped my image in daffodil colored ink and added the balloon base in rich razzleberry to match the cool designer paper.  I took a marker in the same color and extended the lines by hand.

Before I stuck the focal point to the card, I inked up the little bird image that comes with Up, Up and Away stamp set.  I stamped it a few times in my panel, and then thought that the birds should really be flying where ever they want to and stamped them outside the boxed frame of my focal point.  {smiles}.

Next, I tied a piece of daffodil seam binding around the card and into a bow.  This ribbon was meant to make it easy to tie bows, I swear!!  It looks so nice when you just "tie your shoes and fluff".

Here is another close up of my bow, and the pretty birds that are flying wherever they wanted to be.  I also sponged some daffodil ink around my whisper white focal layer to soften it up a little.  I could have used blue, but wanted to stick with the color scheme.  The razzleberry and daffodil really make me smile and remind me of a ray of sunshine.  The quoted stamp comes from Stampin' Up's Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set. Just like the fabulous quote from Emerson.  "Live in the sunshine" my friends!

3/3 Triple Layered Heat Embossed Everything Eleanor Vintage Thank you with Fan Fair Designer Paper

Good Morning Friends!

Have you seen enough of the Fan Fair product suite this week?  This GORGEOUS Stamp set Everything Eleanor layers beautifully with heat embossing.

I'm so excited to share this wonderful card with you.  It's so romantic!

I am in LOVE with the idea of multiple layers of embossing. When you heat emboss on top of another heat embossed layer, you can layer your embossing like you layer paper. It's so fun! I'm not sure that this is the most beautiful card I've ever made, but I'm in LOVE with the process.

First, right on the fan fair DSP, I embossed flourishes with clear embossing powder.

Next, I sponged right on top of it with soft suede ink, and used a paper towel to wipe away the ink on top of the embossed image.

Then, I embossed with vanilla embossing powder right on top. If that wasn't enough I embossed a THIRD time using Gold. I punched a hole in either side of my embossed flower so that the ribbon would not interfere with my pretty gold flower. Too fun!

Shabby Chic and delicious!  :)

Here is the original challenge:
CCREW0313CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Catalog Focus: Check out the Fan Fair Product Suite in the IBC, pp.106-117. Romance us with Elements of Style or Everything Eleanor. Take us away with Postage Due or Papillon Potpourri. Intrigue us with Daydream Medallions or Nature's Price. Choose any of the beautiful stamp sets in this suite and amaze us!

Here is another straight on view of this card.  I just love the gold with the suede and pink pirouette.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

3/2 Stampin' Up! Lacy & Lovely, with Fan Fair Designer Paper Thank you

Good Morning Friends!

Remember the pretty image on the designer paper from yesterday? Well, this Designer paper is the flip side!  Pair it up with a few simple images from the GORGEOUS Lacy & Lovely Stamp set and you've got some vintage beauty!  :)

This close up photo shows the focal point with one of the Large Pearls from Stampin Up!  I used a marker to ink up the Indigo medallion and then punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  Underneath is an Island Indigo 2 3/8" scalloped circle.

The idea for this card came from the work I did for this month's Stampin' Up! creative crew challenge over on Split Coast Stampers.

Here's the original challenge:
DSP/Color Focus: Let's soar with the wonderful Fan Fair dsp and island indigo, which will be gone soon. Create a project with island indigo and fan fair dsp or some of the colors in that dsp. You must use island indigo, though.

I thought I would stay true to the challenge and my Island Indigo card monochromatic.  So I'm just using that color with Vanilla!  What do you think?
For the background, I stamped the Thank you, also from the same stamp set on my Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Then, I embossed the Vanilla Layer with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  I took a sponge and gently sponged some Indigo Ink on that layer to make the embossing pop!  I added the layer of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the top of that then ran my vintage ribbon and added a bow using a few glue dots.

I just love the vintage style, and even more than that I love that I have a thank you to send out to a friend!  I am a little behind on my thank you's.  I have about 15 going out after my open house last week, so I really need to get to work!  :)

If you are interested in what the other designers are doing with this challenge, you can check out the gallery here. Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my artwork with you!  Have a great weekend!

3/1 Pursuit of Happiness and Fan Fair Designer paper with Vellum Overlay

Good Afternoon Friends!

I have a little love to share with you over the next few days! For the past three month's I have been part of a design team over on Split Coast Stampers, called the creative crew.  This month's challenges have been very fun and this card covers two of the challenges!

The sentiment really speaks to my heart.  I try and do little bits of good wherever I go.  There are days when I feel like my little contributions don't matter but then something comes around to show me that all good deeds when serving others come back to us in some way.

I started with the GORGEOUS fan fair designer series paper, and thought I wanted to stamp on vellum to add my sentiment. I added a strip of designer paper under the vellum for interest and sponged the vellum with stazon ink. Then I added some romantic vintage roses at the top.

It's a super simple and quick card, but because of the GORGEOUS designer paper, it went together in a few minutes!

Here is the original challenges:

Holday Focus: Travel the road of words. Quote someone. Over the years Stampin'Up! has quoted many people in their stamps.

Use a wonderful quote as a focal point in your project. (You may use any quote that SU! has ever produced, even retired, but you must let us know the year of the stamp and the stampset name.)

Catalog Focus: Check out the Fan Fair Product Suite in the IBC, pp.106-117. Romance us with Elements of Style or Everything Eleanor. Take us away with Postage Due or Papillon Potpourri. Intrigue us with Daydream Medallions or Nature's Price.

Here's some close up of the gorgeousness!  I love the how soft the stamped vellum looks!  And I think it's the first time I've ever sponged with stazon ink!  I love how quickly it dried!

I attached the sweet ribbon to the card with the tombo multipurpose liquid glue.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love,
Selene
