Good Morning Friends!
Boy did I have fun making this card this morning for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
I had a ball with all the elements in this awesome stamp set Creative Elements. I was inspired by a card I saw at my team meeting created by Anne Marie Call. I'll be showing all the cards from our monthly swap over on my demonstrator facebook page this week.
When I saw the sketch, I just started playing. First, the flower. I hand cut 3 separate layers, then sponged them with Cherry Cobbler Ink. I attached each layer with dimensionals, so this flower really stands up in real life!. At the top I used one large pearl. These are available in the mini.
I created the ribbon leaves, similar to a card I did last week. Here's a quick visual on how to do it.
Just tie a big bow, then loop another piece of ribbon under the bottom to make the leaves. I think it's pretty in white. :)
On the piece I cut out to follow the sketch this morning, I stamped "create" then ran it through the big shot again to cut it a bit smaller. I love how it's the same size as the larger panel cut out of the background.
When I was all done, I realized I mis-stamped my background a bit in the top right hand corner, so I added a butterfly. Sometimes when you make a mistake, it's best to add a layer and just keep moving onward! :D
Here's the measurements for my project:
Base Layer: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4" crumb cake.
Layer 2: 5 1/8" x 3 5/8" very vanilla
Layer 3: 5 x 3 3/4" cherry cobbler
Layer 4: 5 x 3 3/4" crumb cake with a label die cut to show the cobbler.
Layer 5: Ribbon border punch in vanilla (stuck to the back of layer 6 for a decorative edge
Layer 6: 1 x 3 3/4" piece of Designer Paper Timeless Portrait.
Layer 7: Crumb cake cardstock with create stamped in cherry cobbler
Layer 8-10: The flower layers
