Good Morning Friends!
This weekend, I have two birthday's to attend, both for 1 year old children. I decided to take a look through some retired paper and use it. I don't have a huge amount of stamps for children, but I had fun in the process of making these projects.
My sister in law Amy invited me to my first Stampin' Up! workshop. I didn't sign up right away, in fact... I don't think I took anything out of the bag for about a year. It was my love of techniques and classes that lead me to sign up. I was an art major in college and because I can draw, my first inclination was to turn my nose up at stamps.. Boy, was I missing out!!!
First of all ~ stamps are already drawn... so you can spend time doing the fun stuff, embellishing! I did a card for my nephew for mojo monday, then ripped the card off the base and made a scrapbook page instead. My sister in law, with a one year old, doesn't have time to scrapbook very often, so if I make her some pages, I'm sure it will help her out when she sits down to do a quick page during nap time.
I used beads on my cupcake and crystal effects to attach them. I used blender pens and water color wonder crayons.. I don't use my crayons nearly enough. A water based crayon that moves with a blender pen... I wish I had those in art school! They feel very much like an oil based medium when you're working with them, but the fact that they are water based makes them ever so creamy dreamy to work with.
What a wonderful sketch... I really love sketch challenges, it's a great way to start the day! Have a wonderful week! I hope you make some time to stamp something fun!
