Okay~ I admit it... When I looked at this weeks sketch (that I created) I thought to myself "Selene, what the heck were you thinking?" I promise next weeks sketch is MUCH easier.
Although I struggled with a few different ideas I'm completely PSYCHED with the outcome.
Here are some sneak peeks from the catalog that is coming out on January 5th.
First, this card is very large, it measures 8 1/2" tall by 4 1/4" wide.. and I'm hoping it will fit in one of those business size envelopes. If not, I'll have to make a pouch for it. :)
So ~ let me introduce you to totally Tess (my new BFF). Isn't she fantastic? She comes with all kinds of stamping goodies in her set, but in this case I used her to carry the large "U."
I cut 4 scalloped real red valentine hearts with the sizzix. You cant see it that well from these pictures, but the hearts have polka dots in the middle they are really super pretty. Next, I pulled out my new alphabet I got for Christmas and the letters seem to be MADE for these hearts, don't they? I used a large serif alphabet letter for the extra large "U."
I used the heart border punch down the edge of the card, and put a piece of designer paper down the side of the card so the border shows up better. It's so darn pretty.
I used satin ribbon under the red hearts (new in the occasions mini) and used real red and chocolate chip markers to spritz some color across the front of the card.
Finally, I added glitter. I used a 2 way glue pen and dazzling diamonds on all the letters and two single pieces of red chunky glitter for Tess's buttons on her shirt. I added those single pieces with crystal effects.
I hope you have time to play along with the ladies at the 411 blog this week. Although this sketch stretched me creatively, it was just what the doctor ordered after a holiday break from stamping. I needed to get my mojo on, and here she is! :)
Rubbah hugs,
Selene Kempton
