My husband Brian is very much into honey. One of his best buds at work actually makes his own honey and has my husband fascinated to the point that he's thinking of getting a hive for us. I'm not so crazy about getting a bee hive, unless it's somewhere where I won't have to see it. :) Nice supporting him, ey??
Anyway, when I saw the color challenge from Kristina Werner and the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, I instantly saw a way for me to use my just buzzing by set to make him a Father's Day Card and have fun with both challenges. The inside of the card reads "have a wicked cool Dad's Day" ~ totally stolen from Adam Sandler, but what can you do?
So more about the card... Did you know that if you mix a sage shadow watercolor crayon with a bashful blue (using a blender pen), you get baja? Totally fun! I had a really good time using inspiration from two of my favorite challenge sites. I started the challenge by pulling out all the colors in Kristina's challenge. I thought that they reminded me of something I could use with a beehive. It just so happens that it coordinated perfectly to match it up to the mojo sketch.
Challenges are a wonderful way to get the creative juices flowing. Besides, it gave me a chance to take a break from cleaning. I'm redecorating my stamp room (again), and it's a bit of a mess right now.
If you have a chance, try one or both of these challenges.
I hope you have time to stamp something fun today!

I love the distressed look of this card. It has such a rich honey feel to it, it makes me want to get some cornbread and honey to go with my little bees.
