10/23 Stampin' Up! Gentle Peace Christmas Card, Traditional

Hello Friends,

After my stampin class left tonight, I opened my brand new stamp set, Gentle Peace, and played.. and played.  It was JOYFUL!

I started by stamping my image with momento ink on a piece of whisper white card stock.  I started with the night of navy.. This card looked PERFECT to color on my facebook group, but when i'm posting it here, it almost looks purple.  Just click the link above to request entry into my group.  I am forever posting creative projects there and encourage you to share what you are working on in your stamp rooms.

The base is night of navy, as is the second layer and the seam binding ribbon.  I wanted the background to stay subdued to really make the holy family stand out!

I started with my lightest colors and build the darker colors in after by tracing the lines of my stained glass, then blending them.. I used the color lifter to add highlights.

It was so fun to color and play with.  I just hand cut the image out, which was pretty easy (straight lines).

Here is a pretty solid shopping list of everything i used to get this look.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Stampin' Up, The Reason for the Season and This Week's Weekly Deals!

Good Afternoon Friends!
I am SO excited about the set that got released today!  This month’s photopolymer release, Gentle Peace (item #139523), was designed by our ever-amazing lead illustrator, Kathy Pitt. Stampin' Up heard our feedback asking for a religious Christmas stamp set, and she created this incredible imagery along with some wonderful inside/outside sentiments.

This set was designed to work with Blendabilities to create the effect of brightly- colored stained glass. We have to give a shout-out to Terri Allen for her masterful coloring of this stained glass window. With some simple embossing, the set also works well as line art if you need to make several cards quickly.
Also, I just wanted to make you aware of the weekly deals for this week.  The sale on these ends next Monday.
